As a Web Developer , the work you'll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of USCENTCOM. You will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining web applications, web services, and APIs, ensuring that all solutions meet security compliance standards. This position involves conducting code analysis, collaborating with subject matter experts, and providing technical expertise in software and web infrastructure development

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Web Application Development: Design, develop, and maintain high-performance web-based applications and web services, ensuring the delivery of secure and scalable solutions.
  • Custom Solution Design: Translate custom user requirements into effective and efficient web solutions, leveraging ASP.NET, C#, JavaScript, and other modern web technologies.
  • Troubleshooting and Integration: Perform troubleshooting and diagnostics of applications and infrastructure integration, including active directory authentication with IIS servers.
  • CI/CD Deployment: Develop and deploy web applications through continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, leveraging cloud-based deployments to enhance performance and delivery.
  • Database Management: Create, manage, and troubleshoot SQL Server and Azure SQL database stored procedures, ensuring data integrity, security, and efficiency.
  • Web Server Maintenance: Perform scheduled operations and maintenance of web servers, ensuring IIS security compliance and optimal performance.
  • Collaboration and Technical Guidance: Work with cross-functional teams to ensure that development efforts meet software standards and security compliance. Prepare operating instructions and user guides to assist in system integration and deployment.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training, and work experience.
  • Certification: Applicable DoD 8140 or DoD 8570 Certification
  • Experience: 5+ years of related experience
  • Required skills:
    • Extensive experience in developing web applications and services using ASP.NET, C#, and JavaScript.
    • Proven expertise in cloud application development, with a preference for Azure Cloud and experience in cloud migration.
    • Solid understanding of MVC, JSON, JQuery, HTML5, and CSS3 to create seamless, interactive, and responsive user experiences.
    • Strong proficiency in SQL Server development, including stored procedures and T-SQL, to manage data-driven web applications.
    • In-depth knowledge of authorization services in ASP.NET Core to implement robust security protocols.
    • Familiarity with Azure DevOps or GitLab for developing and managing CI/CD pipelines and version control.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to stakeholders and team members.
    • Experience with service desk ticketing and escalation processes.
    • Knowledge of U.S. Department of Defense security requirements, regulations, and policies is highly beneficial.
  • Security clearance level: Secret clearance required with eligibility for TS/SCI
  • US citizenship required
