Bucketsquad is the video and ecommerce business founded and led by YouTube’s largest basketball creator, Jesser (30M subscribers, 2x Streamy Sports Creator of the Year). The company operates Jesser’s YouTube channels and his sports and streetwear brand, and plans to continue expanding into other video, consumer product, subscription and licensing businesses. In 3 years the company has grown to a team of 40 with 8-figure revenues on strong double-digit margins and 100% year on year growth. Bucketsquad is currently seeking a creative and talented individual to be a Thumbnail Designer for the Jesser channel and Team Jesser Channel.

Location: Camarillo, CA (Greater Los Angeles area)

About the Role

The Thumbnail Designer will be focused on creating eye-catching and clickable thumbnails that drive viewer engagement and video performance. We are seeking a highly organized, self-starting, and reliable graphic designer. He or she should be highly creative and skilled, an exceptional communicator and decision-maker, and an experienced and effective Thumbnail Designer.

Role Responsibilities

• Thumbnail Design: Create visually appealing and attention-grabbing thumbnails for YouTube videos that align with the channel's style and content themes
• Trend Analysis: Stay updated on current YouTube trends and thumbnail best practices to ensure designs are relevant and effective
• A/B Testing: Develop multiple thumbnail concepts and conduct A/B testing to determine the most effective designs for maximizing click-through rates
• Collaboration: Work closely with the Jesse main channel and Team Jesser teams to understand video concepts and themes, ensuring thumbnails accurately represent the video content
• Brand Consistency: Maintain a consistent brand aesthetic across all thumbnails, ensuring they reflect Jesser’s personality and content style.
• Feedback Incorporation: Actively seek and incorporate feedback from Jesser and the team to continually improve and refine thumbnail designs

Requirements

• Experience: Graphic design experience, preferably with a focus on digital content or social media. Experience with YouTube thumbnails is a strong plus
• Skills: Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar tools. Strong understanding of visual composition, typography, and color theory
• Creativity: High level of creativity with the ability to produce unique and engaging designs that stand out
• Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail and the ability to produce high-quality designs quickly and efficiently
• Communication: Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a creative team
• Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing previous work, particularly any relevant designs for YouTube or social media
