Job Summary

The Preventative Maintenance Lube Mechanic is responsible for maintaining heavy duty trucks. Other duties include general maintenance of a heavy equipmnet shop.

Compensation

$23.00 - $29.00 DOE

Responsibilities

• Service and perform minor repairs on gas and diesel semis and trucks.
• Check and fill fluid levels, service lube points and perform routine preventative maintenance
• Maintain service, repair, and maintenance records
• Maintain positive relationships with plant personnel
• Complete daily work assignments in a timely fashion
• Perform tasks from verbal/written instructions and communicate effectively with supervisor and fellow employees
• Keep work area clean and orderly
• Follow and promote the CalPortland Culture, Policies and Procedures, including MSHA mine site regulations

Education

High School diploma/GED; trade schooling preferred

Requirements/Qualifications

• 1-3 years’ experience working in an industrial shop environment
• Clean driving record and Class C driver’s license required
• Reliable attendance
• Must be able to work independently and with a team
• Knowledge of industrial and shop safety rules and procedures
• Ability to operate vehicles and equipment for testing and troubleshooting before and after performing maintenance activities
• Computer skills necessary - data entry of work orders 
• Physical Requirements: must lift 60 pounds with regularity, bend, stoop and stretch

Preferred:

• Welding experience 
• SAP experience
• Mechanics Certifications

Conditions of Employment

Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require FMCSA regulated on-going drug and alcohol testing.
