Job Description

**ADF Admin/Developer** **Location: Anywhere in United States, remote** **Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Azure Data Factory (ADF) Developer/Administrator to play a critical role in our cloud migration initiatives. This role will be central to migrating our existing Azure MSSQL databases to Azure PostgreSQL, along with the associated data pipelines and integration workflows. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in ADF, Azure database services, and data migration strategies, with a strong understanding of application migration, including platforms like PEGA. You will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and managing robust and efficient data integration solutions to support our evolving data landscape. **Responsibilities:** **Data Migration Strategy and Execution:** + Lead the planning and execution of data migration from Azure MSSQL to Azure PostgreSQL, ensuring data integrity, quality, and minimal downtime. **ADF Pipeline Development and Optimization:** + Design, develop, and maintain complex data pipelines and workflows in Azure Data Factory to facilitate data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL/ELT) processes for database migration and application integration. **Database Expertise (MSSQL and PostgreSQL):** + Possess strong knowledge of both Azure MSSQL and Azure PostgreSQL database environments, including schema design, data types, performance tuning, and security best practices. **Application Migration Support:** + Collaborate with application teams (including PEGA) to understand data migration requirements and dependencies, ensuring seamless integration with the new PostgreSQL environment. **Performance Monitoring and Troubleshooting:** + Implement monitoring and alerting mechanisms for ADF pipelines and database performance. Troubleshoot and resolve data integration issues promptly and effectively. **Security and Compliance:** + Adhere to data security policies and compliance standards during the migration process and in ongoing data operations. Implement appropriate security measures within ADF and the database environments. **Automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC):** + Utilize infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., ARM templates, Terraform) to automate the deployment and management of ADF resources and database services. **Collaboration and Communication:** + Work closely with cross-functional teams, including database administrators, application developers, and project managers, to ensure successful migration and integration efforts. Provide clear and concise communication on progress, risks, and dependencies. **Best Practices and Standards:** + Define and enforce best practices and standards for ADF development, data integration, and database management within the Azure environment. **Documentation:** + Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for ADF pipelines, data flows, and migration processes. **Continuous Improvement:** + Stay up-to-date with the latest Azure data services and ADF features, identifying opportunities for optimization and improvement in our data integration architecture. **Qualifications:** + Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. + 8-10+ years of hands-on experience in developing and administering Azure Data Factory solutions for complex data integration projects. + Proven experience in migrating databases from MSSQL to PostgreSQL in an Azure environment. + Strong proficiency in SQL and experience working with both MSSQL and PostgreSQL databases. + Experience with various ADF connectors, transformations, and control flow activities. + Understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL/ELT methodologies. + Familiarity with application migration processes and integration patterns, including experience with platforms like PEGA is highly desirable. + Experience with scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell for automation tasks. + Knowledge of Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipelines and source control. + Understanding of Azure security principles and best practices related to data services. + Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. + Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Azure certifications related to data (e.g., Azure Data Engineer Associate). + Experience with other Azure data services such as Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, or Azure Logic Apps. + Experience with data governance and data quality frameworks. + Familiarity with agile development methodologies. *****Applications will be accepted till 6/4/25** **Salary and Other Compensation:** The annual salary for this position [$73,000 to $116,000] depends on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
